About Dr. Leah Clionsky

Dr. Clionsky is a licensed psychologist who specializes in providing treatments that really work to children, adolescents, adults and their families. Dr. Clionsky is passionate in her belief that people should get the most helpful treatment for their problems and should have access to doctors with the training and expertise to provide it. Dr. Clionsky has made it a priority to be trained and certified in many treatments that research indicates are most helpful for clients right now. Most notably, Dr. Clionsky was trained by the developer of Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, Dr. Sheila Eyberg, and has helped over 300 families with PCIT. She is a certified PCIT trainer and enjoys providing a treatment that works so quickly. She is also a certified TF-CBT therapist.

Dr. Clionsky earned her M.S. and Ph.D. at University of Florida. She completed her pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM). She became an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at BCM, where she provided  psychotherapy to medical students, allied health students, graduate students. medical residents and clinical fellows through the Student and House Staff Mental Health Service. Previously, she was the Program Director for the Adolescents In Motion Program, an intensive outpatient program for adolescents with severe mental illness at Ben Taub General Hospital. Dr. Clionsky is excited to be in full-time private practice a Thriving Child Center and PCIT Experts and still provides training at BCM as a Clinical Assistant Professor.
