She is the lead developer and co-investigator of TRAIN: Trauma Recovery for Autistic, Intellectually disabled, and Neurodivergent adults. Dr. Bonatakis is an autistic, multiply neurodivergent, and queer survivor of complex trauma who is passionate about serving the LGBTQ+ community and those who practice diverse relationship structures. Her lived experience and ongoing professional development inform her expertise in serving trauma survivors, the misunderstood, the historically excluded, change and movement makers, and families with young children who communicate through unexpected, confusing, and baffling behavior.

When she’s not working, you can find her in the snow, loving on her two cats, practicing Yoga and Reiki, roller skating, enjoying forms of nature, making music, or nose deep in a book.
