Clinicians at Thriving Child Center are out-of-network providers. This means that we do not have relationships with insurance companies and do not process insurance claims ourselves. We ask that you pay us by check or credit card at the beginning of the session. Some insurance plans will pay for “out-of-network” services. This means that they will reimburse you for all or part of the cost of services. We are able to give you the documentation to bill your insurance yourself if you request it.
It is your responsibility to verify your insurance coverage for out-of-network services. If you plan to submit for reimbursement, we encourage you to contact your insurance company before your first session or assessment. if your insurance company does not reimburse you, you are still responsible for paying for your sessions.
- Evaluations for Autism Spectrum Disorder: $2,500.00
- The evaluation includes the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2), which is the Gold Standard measure for diagnosing autism and is required by most insurance companies to approve services for ASD treatment

- Evaluations for Learning Disorders: $1,500.00
- Evaluations for emotional or intellectual functioning questions: $1,000.00

Please note that additional fees will be charged for sessions that run longer than the allotted time, school visits, frequent contact outside of session times, and long phone calls with you or other providers (e.g., school personnel, medical providers, etc.). Services that involve contact with the legal system will be charged at a higher rate. Services that require travel will be charged for travel time.
Potential Benefits of Not Using Insurance
There are several reasons that people may not want to use insurance coverage for therapy services. Most insurance companies require personal information about you and your treatment, including a diagnosis and information about your treatment and progress in therapy, in order to approve services. This information then becomes part of your medical record and may be accessible by other agencies in the future, such as health or life insurance agencies, and potentially even employers and lending agencies. It could also impact your ability to serve in the military. Insurance companies have the right to approve or deny services based on your diagnosis and the type of treatment you are receiving. They can limit the number of sessions you are allowed and the type of treatment you can receive.
It is sometimes possible for clinicians to offer services at a lower cost depending upon a family's income. Please ask if you are interested in services but are unable to pay the current rates.
If you are unable to come to your session or evaluation and need to cancel, please let us know more than 24-hours in advance. If you do not attend the appointment without giving adequate notice, you will be charged the cost of the session or evaluation.
